I am a woman in her 50's. I am divorced for a very long time. I have two sons,?
ages 26, and 23. I don't have much, own my own home, barely make the bills, but manage to hang on to leave the house to my boys one day. I also always make sure I have a life insurance policy. Enough to take care of my funeral, burial, and leave a bit left over for my sons. My friend, who is in her late 40's, on the verge of losing her home, has two grown daughters, says life insurance isn't important. She says the value of my house would take care of my demise expenses. I say, why burden my family with having to sell the house, why not be prepared? Am I making too big a deal out of providing for my family after I'm gone?
