What is the life expectancy of multiple myeloma?

I can honestly answer this question as my mother ped away 17 years ago from multiple myeloma. From the time she was diagnosed until her ping she lived a total of three years. The dr's gave her 24 mos after diagnosis but she went beyond that by 1 year. While they cannot give you an exact time frame with good medical care you can live approx three years. My mom had the best medical care there was to give. It's a very difficult thing to see a loved one go through..but at least you do get to prepare yourself (as much as possible) and have some quality time left. I spent the whole three years taking care of my mother and watching what she went through. I have to say it was the hardest three years of my life..but I was so thankful I did have that time with her before she ped away.
