What does this reacurring dream mean?

for the longest time i've been having dreams about me and my ex that we had a little baby boy together. I started having these dreams when we were together. About a cpl months later he ended up telling me that he got his ex g.f pregnant and so we broke up. Up till this day I still have these dreams that we have a baby together and we've been broken up for a lil over a year now. These dreams happen like clockwork every couple months and I'm just wondering why?!?! Me and him are only friends and he doesnt even live in the same state anymore, much less he has his family now. What do these dreams mean?
